Bigu Hydro Venture Pvt. Ltd. Secures Financial Closure with NIFRA for 3 MW Pegu Khola Hydropower Project

Kathmandu, Ashad 4, 2082 BS — In another milestone for Nepal’s growing renewable energy landscape, Bigu Hydro Venture Pvt. Ltd., the developer of the Pegu Khola Small Hydropower Project (3 MW) located in Dolakha district, has officially achieved financial closure with Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA) on 3rd Ashad, 2082.

The agreement follows a detailed project appraisal process conducted by NIFRA, including technical reviews and on-site evaluations. With funding now secured, Bigu Hydro Venture Pvt. Ltd. is poised to move forward with main construction works, including headworks, penstock installation, powerhouse construction, and grid connection infrastructure.

In addition to its energy output, the project is expected to create employment opportunities, improve access infrastructure, and foster economic activity in the surrounding communities during and after construction.
